Collection: Anubias

Anubias are among the hardiest and most beginner-friendly aquarium plants available, making them a favorite for shrimp tanks, low-tech setups, and aquascapes of every kind. Popular varieties include Anubias Barteri, Nana, Nana Petite, Coffeefolia, Congensis, and many more.

  • Difficulty: Very easy, ideal for beginners
  • Lighting: Low to moderate; thrives in low light
  • CO2: Not required
  • Placement: Foreground to midground; attach to driftwood, rock, or hardscape
  • Growth: Slow, with thick dark-green leaves
  • Key rule: Do not bury the rhizome. The rhizome must stay above the substrate or it will rot. Tie or glue Anubias to hardscape instead of planting it in substrate.

Anubias are completely shrimp-safe, and their broad leaves collect biofilm that shrimp graze on while also giving them cover. Because they grow slowly and tolerate neglect, they're nearly impossible to kill, perfect for first-time planted-tank keepers.

Every order is backed by our Live Arrival Guarantee and ships across the US with seasonal protection. See our shipping information for current options and rates.
