A dark, deeply saturated red Neocaridina with a clearly visible dorsal backline running the length of the body. A distinct and recognisable grade in the red cherry line with a bolder, more complex appearance than solid-red morphs.
Fire Red Shrimp are a high-grade Neocaridina morph defined by two characteristics working together: a deeply saturated dark red body colour and a clearly visible dorsal backline running from the head to the tail along the top of the carapace and abdomen. The backline is a distinct stripe of intensified or differently toned red pigmentation that runs as a defined linear marking along the shrimp's dorsal surface, giving the Fire Red a two-element visual character that distinguishes it from solid-red morphs like the Fire Red Cherry where full-body opacity without visible internal structure or patterning is the goal. In the red cherry grading hierarchy the backline is a characteristic associated with selective line development, and specimens that combine deep red body colouration with a clean, well-defined backline represent a consistent and attractive expression of the morph. Hardy, prolific, and straightforward to maintain on standard Neocaridina parameters.
Fire Red Shrimp with a clearly defined backline read differently in a mixed display than solid-red morphs because the dorsal marking adds a linear element that catches the eye as the shrimp moves. In a tank with Snowball or Blue Dream shrimp as contrast elements, the backline of the Fire Red becomes the most visually detailed component of the display -- the element that rewards looking closely rather than just reading the overall colour composition.
