What to Expect with Color

Skittles Shrimp are a multi-color mix of Neocaridina — expect a lively blend of reds, blues, greens, yellows, oranges, blacks, browns, and wild patterned variations all in one active colony. Every shrimp is a surprise with no guaranteed color or pattern, and new generations may produce entirely new looks.

Color intensity may range from fully opaque to lightly translucent depending on genetics and age. This mix is extremely popular for nature-style aquascapes where variety and natural diversity are the main appeal. Over time you can selectively remove your favorites to start building a more stable color line if desired.

General Care Behavior and Tank Conditions

These shrimp exhibit the classic Neocaridina hardiness and adaptability. A mature well-cycled aquarium with ample plants moss and botanicals provides grazing surfaces and security for shrimplets.

A balanced diet rich in biofilm shrimp specific foods and occasional vegetables supports strong coloration molting and colony growth. Peaceful environments with consistent parameters keep shrimp active and thriving.
