What to Expect

Function Over Time

As moss or Anubias grows across the mesh, the structure becomes a natural focal point that blends shelter and greenery without taking up excessive tank space. Biofilm naturally develops on both the hideaway surface and the planted mesh, creating additional grazing areas that shrimp will actively use throughout the day.

Placement

How to Set It Up

1 Place directly on the substrate in your desired position. No burying or anchoring required.
2 Attach moss by tying or gently pressing it into the mesh openings. It will root in on its own over time.
3 Secure Anubias using thread or aquarium-safe adhesive. Do not bury the rhizome — attach it to the mesh surface only.

Position the hideaway near existing plants or other hardscape to create layered cover. Shrimp are more likely to use a retreat when it feels connected to surrounding structure rather than sitting in open space.
