Moss Tower — Superior Shrimp & Aquatics
Aquarium Hardscape Accessories

Moss Tower

Vertical structure, living texture, and a shrimp haven — grown from the inside out.

Interior Moss Chamber No Tying Required Vertical Aquascape Shrimp Microhabitat Nano Tank Friendly

The Moss Tower is a hollow hardscape accessory designed to hold aquarium moss securely inside the structure rather than wrapped on the exterior. Moss is placed into the internal chamber where it gradually grows outward through the openings, creating a natural, layered look while staying contained and tidy. This design prevents loose moss from drifting around the tank and keeps growth concentrated in a defined vertical form.

A Living Structure Over Time

Once filled in, the tower provides excellent grazing surfaces and sheltered microhabitats for shrimp and small invertebrates. It adds vertical interest to aquascapes without occupying excessive floor space, making it well suited for shrimp tanks, nano aquariums, and planted layouts that benefit from structured height.

Shrimp graze constantly on the biofilm that develops across the moss and tower surface. Small invertebrates use the gaps and chambers as shelter and molting spots. Moss grows evenly outward from all sides over time, creating a full, lush appearance. Vertical form adds height and depth to aquascapes without claiming floor space.

How to Set It Up

1 Gather your aquarium moss — Java moss, Christmas moss, or any fast-growing species works well.
2 Pack moss gently into the internal cavity. Leave small gaps to allow water flow through the structure.
3 Place the tower on the substrate in your desired position. No tying, threading, or adhesives needed.
4 Allow 2 to 4 weeks for moss to begin growing outward through the openings and establishing itself.
💡 Bonus Tip

Do not overpack the interior with moss. Leaving small gaps improves water flow through the tower and helps the moss grow evenly from all sides rather than pushing outward in only one direction.

Can't wait.

I ordered two of these. They came unbroken, great packaging during shipping, and I put my flame moss inside of one. I will be putting some christmas moss in the second. I can't wait to see how these moss grows through these.
