Green Jelly Shrimp display a light translucent green coloration that gives them a soft and natural look in planted aquascapes. Their body tone can range from pale green to more noticeable lime coloration depending on age genetics diet and environmental conditions.
Because their shell is not fully opaque like darker green lines you may still see internal structures which is part of the classic Green Jelly appearance. Color generally intensifies as shrimp mature and maintain good health. Juveniles are typically very lightly colored and can deepen over their first several molts in a stable environment.
Consistent coloration is achievable when the line is kept pure and selectively bred but some variation in depth of green is normal across individuals.
Green Jelly Shrimp thrive in mature aquariums rich in biofilm algae and natural texture such as moss wood and botanicals. They spend most of their time grazing contributing to overall cleanliness and biological balance.
A gentle mineral rich diet supports molting and visible pigment. Peaceful tankmates consistent parameters and a low stress environment help maintain confident coloration and activity. These shrimp are excellent candidates for planted nano aquariums and colony projects.
