A patterned Neocaridina with vivid orange colouration on the head and tail contrasting with a transparent midsection -- the Rili pattern in a warm, vivid orange expression.
Orange Rili Shrimp are a Neocaridina colour variant carrying the distinctive Rili pattern in vivid orange: vivid orange colouration on the head carapace and rear abdomen, with a semi-transparent, reduced-pigmentation midsection between them that creates the floating-ends visual effect that defines all Rili pattern shrimp. The Rili pattern is the same across every colour it is expressed in -- concentrated colour at the two body ends, transparency in the middle -- and the quality of the pattern in any individual is judged by how vivid and opaque the coloured zones are and how transparent and clean the midsection is. Orange Rili are hardy, beginner-friendly Neocaridina in all other respects: broad parameter tolerance, breeds freely in freshwater, identical care to all other Neocaridina. Do not house with other Neocaridina colour variants to prevent colour reversion. See also Red Rili and Blue Rili for the same pattern in different colour expressions.
Orange Rili alongside Blue Rili in the same display tank -- where colour-line purity is not a priority -- creates the most vivid warm-cool Rili pairing available. The warm orange head and tail of Orange Rili against the cool blue of Blue Rili, both with transparent midsections on dark substrate, reads as a complete complementary-colour composition in pattern form: two Rili animals with opposite colour temperatures whose transparent midsections are identical, making the colour difference between the two patterns read as purely a colour temperature contrast within the same two-tone structure.
Pair Orange Rili with Blue Rili, Red Rili, or solid-colour Neocaridina for a pattern display. Browse our Neocaridina Shrimp collection.
