What to Expect with Color

SSS Sunkist Shrimp represent the highest saturation tier of the Sunkist line. Expect dense, solid orange coloration across the head, carapace, abdomen, legs, and tail, with minimal transparency compared to standard or lower grade Sunkists.

Color typically ranges from a rich tangerine to deep mandarin orange, with females often showing the most opaque coverage and rounded, bright appearance. Males may appear slightly slimmer but should still demonstrate strong coloration in an SSS grade group. Shrimp freshly after molting may appear lighter but regain full intensity as the shell mineralizes.

Juveniles begin lighter but develop increasing depth and uniformity with age, stable water parameters, and a mineral-rich diet.

General Care Behavior and Tank Conditions

SSS Sunkist Shrimp thrive in mature, planted aquariums with abundant biofilm and soft organic textures such as moss, botanicals, and driftwood. They are peaceful, active grazers that maintain regular movement throughout the tank.

A balanced diet including shrimp foods, spirulina-enhanced pellets, and occasional blanched vegetables promotes strong shell formation and stable coloration. As with all Neocaridina, consistent water parameters and gentle filtration support long-term breeding success and vibrant appearance.
