Miscount

I got the ultimate breeder pack which it's supposed to have 10 shrimp + extra shrimp (to account for losses in shipping). However, when they arrived, there were only 7 shrimp in the bag, and one of them was dead, so I only got 6 shrimp. I contacted them, but they just told me that there were shrimp that died and were eaten up by the living shrimp. This is just not physically possible. 6 shrimp cannot eat 6 other dead shrimp within the span of 2 days (I saw 6 other shrimp to account for the missing ones and the ones that should have been included as extras). There were small pieces of shrimp in the bag, but the pieces account for 1 dead shrimp, not 6. Additionally, the shrimp pieces were not even blue, so I have a hard time believing those pieces were even the same type of shrimp (I ordered Diamond Blue shrimp). I appreciate their fast response, but I find it unprofessional for them to miscount and blame it on the shrimp. I choose to just get my money back for the missing shrimp because I was tired of the situation (they offered replacement shrimp, but I was not about to pay $20 on shipping for 4 shrimp). I just wanted to put this out there.Thank you for the order, and have a nice day.

Hi Rafaiel,

A few clarifications for anyone reading:

On the count: our Live Arrival Guarantee math is based on alive count versus paid count, not bag count. You paid for 10 shrimp and had 6 alive, which is 4 below your paid count and what was covered. Bonuses are added as a buffer to absorb transit losses, not as a guaranteed delivery count.

On cannibalism: shrimp are opportunistic eaters and will consume dead shrimp during transit. This is well-documented behavior across all shrimp species. Soft tissue can be consumed completely in transit, leaving exoskeleton fragments that fragment further and become unrecognizable. Combined with 48 hours of decomposition, dead shrimp don't reliably appear as whole shrimp in a final bag count.

On the color of the fragments: dead Blue Diamond shrimp do not stay blue. The blue pigmentation in Neocaridina varieties is largely structural and is maintained by living cells. Within hours of death, that pigment dissipates and the body turns pale or white. By the time of arrival 48 hours later, any DOA tissue would appear pale, not blue. Pale fragments are evidence of dead shrimp from your order, not a different species.

On shipping cost for reshipment: partial loss reshipments are at buyer expense per our published Shipping Policy. This applies to all customers regardless of order value. You agreed to that policy at checkout.

The refund was processed at the per-shrimp rate at the pack price, which is how Live Arrival Guarantee refunds are calculated.

Blue diamonds

I have received my shrimp today. I am very pleased with the way everything I ordered was packaged. I ordered the breeder pack but only received 8 shrimp I thought it was supposed to be 10. I absolutely love the moss towers much bigger than expected. Plants arrived in perfect condition as well and there were no DOA's all alive and well. I will be a return customer

Ideal Blue Dream

I am exceedingly pleased with the quality of these Blue Diamonds. Fully deep blue, full glorious color and healthy tank explorers.

I was also pleased with the quality and effort put intopacking and shipping. I ended up placing additional orders.

Seems I may have received mostly male shrimp

Seems I may have received mostly male shrimp though as a bunch of them were trying to climb on one specific shrimp
