Return Policy

We want you to be happy with your order. Returns are accepted under the terms below, and always require prior written authorization before anything is sent back.

⚠️ Before You Return Anything

All returns require prior written authorization. Contact us at support@superiorshrimpaquatics.com before sending anything back. Returns sent without written authorization will be refused at the door and treated as a total loss, with no refund issued.

All returns are at the buyer's expense. This includes return shipping, packaging, and any heat or ice packs required for safe transit. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Items must arrive back to us in the exact same condition they were sent, with all original packaging and no signs of use, damage, or alteration. Items received in any other condition will not be refunded, and may be returned to the buyer at their expense or discarded.

🦐 Live Animal & Plant Returns

Returns of live animals and plants are accepted only with prior written authorization, and are strongly discouraged due to the stress shipping places on living things. We will accept a live return, but the animals or plants must arrive back to us alive and in the same condition they were sent. The buyer carries all responsibility and all cost for getting them here safely.

Required for a live return

  • Prior written authorization from us before shipping
  • The buyer safely packs the animals or plants to our standards for live transit, including bags, oxygen, insulation, and seasonal heat or ice packs as conditions require
  • An expedited shipping method selected and paid for by the buyer
  • The animals or plants arrive alive and in the same condition they were sent

What ends a live return

  • Any return shipped without prior written authorization
  • Ground shipping for live returns will not be accepted
  • Animals or plants that arrive dead, stressed, damaged, or altered from how they were sent
  • Losses during return transit, which are the buyer's responsibility and not eligible for refund

How a live return is refunded

Refunds are issued only after the animals or plants have been received, inspected, and confirmed to be in the same condition they were sent. Original shipping charges are non-refundable, and return shipping is the buyer's expense.

📦 Dry Goods Returns

Dry goods include food, equipment, accessories, hardscape, and botanicals. Because these items are sold ready for immediate use, the return window is short and strict.

Eligible for return

  • Return requested with prior written authorization the same day the order is delivered
  • Items unused and unopened in their original, sealed packaging
  • Items packed safely by the buyer to prevent transit damage

Not eligible for return

  • Any request made after the day of delivery
  • Used, opened, or damaged items
  • Items missing original packaging
  • Items that arrive back damaged, opened, or in any condition other than how they were sent

Dry goods returns must be requested on the day of delivery. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility, and we recommend using the original shipping box or equivalent protection. Items that arrive damaged, opened, or otherwise altered will not be refunded and may be returned at the buyer's expense or discarded.

Authorization Is Required, Always

No return is accepted without prior written authorization from us. Unauthorized returns are refused at the door and treated as a total loss. Please contact us first so we can confirm whether your item qualifies and provide return instructions.

Who Can Request a Return

Return requests must come from the email address on the original order. We cannot process requests from third parties, gift recipients, or alternate email addresses.

Return Shipping & Costs

The buyer always pays return shipping, including packaging and any heat or ice packs required for safe transit. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. We do not provide prepaid return labels.

Condition on Arrival

All returned items must arrive in the exact same condition they were sent, with all original packaging and no signs of use, damage, or alteration. We inspect every return against our records before any refund is issued. Items not in original condition will not be refunded and may be returned to the buyer at their expense or discarded.

Refund Timing

Refunds are issued only after the returned items have been received, inspected, and confirmed to be in the same condition they were sent. Refunds are made to the original payment method for the item value only; original and return shipping are not refunded.

Non-Returnable Items

Promotional items, free items, bonus animals, and anything marked final sale are not eligible for return. Special or custom orders may also be non-returnable where noted at the time of purchase.

Order Accuracy at Checkout

It is the buyer's responsibility to verify species, quantity, variant, and shipping address at checkout. Orders are packed exactly as placed. Returns requested due to buyer-side selection errors are accepted only at our discretion and remain subject to all terms above, including buyer-paid return shipping.
